[WN]-New Delhi: Acharya Balkrishnaoga, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Yoga guru Ramdev-run Patanjali, has claimed that the company has found an Ayurvedic medicine that can help cure the novel coronavirus infection. According to Balkrishna, an Ayurvedic medicine developed by the firm has been able to cure COVID-19 patients within 5-14 days.

"To date, there's NO Vaccine or Specific Treatment for COVID-19"

On Sunday, Ramdev told India TV that COVID-19 patients who were administered Patanjali medicine 'Coronil' showed a 100 percent recovery rate. According to the yoga guru, coronial is made from a mixture of Ashwagandha, Giloy, and Tulsi and can be taken twice daily - morning and evening.

"We appointed a team of scientists after the Covid-19 outbreak. First, the simulation was done and compounds were identified which can fight the virus and stop its spread in the body.

Then, we conducted a clinical case study on hundreds of positive patients and we have got 100 percent favorable results. We are not talking about an immunity booster. We are talking about a cure," Balkrishna said in Haridwar, according to ANI.

The report added that clinical trials were conducted in Indore and in Jaipur after Patanjali secured the regulator’s approval last week.

He said COVID-19 patients who were given the Ayurvedic medicine recovered in 5-14 days and they also tested negative for the virus.

“So, we can say the cure for COVID is possible through Ayurveda. We are performing controlled clinical trials only. In the next few days, evidence and data will be released by us," he said.

Balkrishna also recommended that people should practice Yoga, and keep oneself healthy through proper diet to boost the immune system.

Meanwhile, homeopathy medicine Arsenic Album 30 has been approved by the Maharashtra government for use in the general population as a prophylactic against COVID-19, as well as an immunity booster.

To date, there's no vaccine or specific treatment for COVID-19, which has so far claimed at least 431,193 people in the world. As of Monday morning, the Health Ministry’s data shows that India’s total cases of COVID-19 reached 3,32,424, with 11,502 fresh coronavirus infections reported in the last 24 hours.
